The Road to BeyChella: Beyoncé’s 2018 Diet

It has only been days since the premiere of Beyoncé’s Homecoming was released by Netflix and, the Beyhive is already buzzing. In this film, we got to see Beyoncé’s groundbreaking Coachella performance and behind the scenes footage that captured the journey to her performance. In the film, Beyoncé shared her diet as a part of her journey and fans have been talking all about it since the release.

As we know, Beyoncé gave birth to twins, Rumi and Sir Carter, in June 2017. In the past, Beyoncé explained the difficulties of her pregnancy in her issue with Vogue Magazine and has revealed that she was 218 pounds the day she gave birth. In Homecoming, we learned just what Beyoncé was eating to get Coachella ready after gaining baby weight. She declares, “In order to meet my goal, I’m limiting myself to no bread, no carbs, no sugar, no dairy, no meat, no fish, no alcohol. And I’m hungry.” I bet you were hungry Bey. Sounds like she couldn’t eat anything hardly.

But, this restricted diet worked in her favor. In the documentary, Beyoncé showed us a clip of her trying to fit into one of her old costumes. She was very proud of herself for getting into that costume and getting close to her fitness goals. I know a lot of us could probably relate to this moment, except for us we are trying to fit into our old jeans from high school.

Beyoncé explained to us just how difficult this journey was for her and it sounds like she should be the next feature in our Fit Mommie Diaries Campaign. Beyoncé stated in her documentary that balancing being a mother of twins and a six-year-old on top of being creative is a lot to juggle. She noted that before, she could have 15-hour rehearsals no problem. But not she has children, a husband, and she needs to take care of her body. After going through this grueling process, Beyoncé shared with her viewers that she learned a valuable lesson: that she will never push herself that far again.

So, what we can learn from Beyoncé’s, Homecoming, the most is not her diet but the lessons she learned from her own journey. There are plenty of fit moms out there, and Beyoncé allowed us to get a sneak peek into her life as a fit mother and how she balances it all. While Beyoncé is Beyoncé, she is still a hardworking mother like a lot of women who still struggle balancing life and maintaining their bodies. If we can take anything away from Beyoncé’s Homecoming, don’t push yourself too hard and take on what you can handle.
